With support from the SWITCH to Green Facility, DG INTPA collected insights into circular economy transition processes from selected countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Interviews with stakeholders in Colombia, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Senegal and Uganda revealed the main drivers behind circular economy (CE) transition processes at a national level. Across the six countries, the dual ambition to generate economic growth and reduce negative environmental impacts is a key driver towards the adoption of circular models, while political leadership has been essential to initiate the transition.
